Meanwhile back at Grandmere’s place.
She sinks back into her chair pain and exhaustion written clearly on her face, but though it all a small smile dances though her eyes and mouth.
“They are finally showing a bit of backbone, thank the gods. It’s not enough though they are going to need spines of steel to handle what needs doing. Hopefully the next three months will provide that, if they survive them. Vampires,” she mutters as she leans over to ring a bell, “that curse sure knows how to pick them, a demoness for my brother; my son, a cursed witch; and vampires for my grandsons. What’s next a wraith for Alncor?”
“You rang, Ma’am?” asks the young man at the door.
“Send Gem in, then send a note to Alice asking for her to stop by this evening if it is convenient for her.”
A few minutes later a young woman steps though the door, “You called Ma’am?”
“Gem, it’s time,” she replied.
“Yes, Ma’am. What will we be dealing with?”
“Vampires, Gem, male vampires,” laughs Grandmere.
Gem looks startled, “Male Vampires? Well that’s two ways of fulfilling the prophecy of them being the last of their bloodline. What’s their current location and I’ll get things set into motion.”
A globe appears before Grandmere and spins around until a spot glows. The globe zooms in on the spot, showing the location of the mirror communicators. “This is the location of their last transmission. I gave them three months to bond or else,” Grandmere states.
“Three months? That’s not a lot of time for them to get to know each other and bond,” Gem says as she memorizes the local towns and cities on the globe.
“It’s is all the time I can afford to give them. I have made the consequences worse then usual as well, and have yet to tell them everything. I will clear that up the next time I speak with them,” she replies.
Gem looks to Grandmere, “Ma’am, I have this novice under me that I think has the potential to be my successor. I would like to make him my apprentice and use this mission to teach him everything I can.”
“I leave that in your capable hands. The boys will need someone to handle things for them if they survive the test.”

Haven't put together any new art yet but here's a little bit more of the story I have written so far.
